With its history lent from the
Italians, the French term, “bonbonniere”
was popularized during the grand reign of King Louis
XIV. Known as little boxes of candy (i.e., bonbons),
bonbonniere was given out during celebrations in
the form of dragées, or almonds coated with
sugar. During this time, fancy containers rendered
in beautiful artistic forms inspired the creation
of wedding
bonbonniere as we popularly know them today.
Bellenza’s collection of handmade
favor packaging is made with high quality materials
and exquisite designs that celebrate the wonderful
tradition of the bonbonniere as petite yet thoughtful
gifts for wedding guests. A few examples are our
candy
sachets embroidered and sewn on fine fabrics
such as tulle and organza, including our Limoges-style
porcelain keepsake boxes with decorative motifs.
