Fabulous Feature: An Indian-inspired Tablescape by Manvi Drona

We’re always on the lookout for a new flavor in wedding table decorating. Well, we certainly have a ‘flavorful’ tablescape for you to savor in this Fabulous Feature! An exotic, yet contemporary setting inspired by the rich colors and patterns of India.

Styled by Manvi Drona, a D.C.-based design consultant and founder of the lifestyle blog Mochatini, this is one of her ‘Tablescape 101’ features on the Bright Bazaar blog. So, lucky for us all, Manvi actually explains her decorating approach for this Indian-inspired soiree.

Highlights of this Dazzling Indian-Inspired Tablescape in Hues of Blue and Orange

  • Rich Colors and Exotic Patterns – The keys to this striking table display are color and pattern. Manvi artfully combined a range of blues—we see aquamarine, navy, and cobalt—with a warm burnt orange, accented with touches of gold. Her table elements bring in a fascinating mix of Eastern-inspired patterns on the dinner ware, waves on a blue Oriental runner, peacock feather designs on the glasses, ikat weave on the table napkins, and faux gems on the napkin rings.
  • Lovely Florals and Watercolors – To soften the bold palette, Manvi set out a centerpiece of dainty baby’s breath and vases of orange calla lilies and orchids. And she had lovely Indian Tapas menus printed out in muted watercolors by Little Bit Heart.
  • Sparkly Gold Touches – Mini gold elephant figurines added another exotic touch to each place setting.
  • Wall Decor with Paper Fans – On the walls, Manvi hung paper fans in varied patterns to provide a simple but eye-catching backdrop to complete the decor.

Something different, don’t you agree? We couldn’t have been more delighted to have such a unique feature to inspire you! For additional personal commentary by Manvi, you can visit her own blog post on this exotic, contemporary tablescape!
