Original Ways to Add Pizazz to Those Place Frames

Just because you want to keep things organized that doesn’t have to mean that style has to take a back seat. With some imagination and creativity, have some fun and work with ribbons, floral accents, and other embellishments to add personality and flair to your place frames - a perfect opportunity to express a little bit of your artistic side. We’ve lined up three creative tips for decorating frames and included some original ways for arranging them at the table.

Tie a Ribbon on the Frame’s Side

Using an ivory satin ribbon, we’ve tied a simple bow by the left panel (on the top corner) of this frame. In this picture of a mini ivory picture frame, we chose a ribbon in a neutral color such as ivory to match the finish of the frames. Choosing a neutral color such as ivory or white allows you to set them at each guest’s place setting in an elegant and subtle manner. Alternatively, you can also choose a color such as pink or blue in a lovely shade that contrasts nicely with ivory.

Quick Tip #1: When arranging your frames on a long receiving table such as the guest book table, try using accents such as clear sequins that add a fantastic sparkling effect. If you want to be truly creative, try arranging the frames in a unique pattern such as a heart to add a romantic look to your favors.

Place Accents around Frames

Pretty miniature flowers are a lovely way to instantly add color and texture with very little effort. In the example below, we’ve placed a beautiful miniature red rose along the side each of these golden place frames. Since gold is a vibrant color, a contrasting color such as a red can add a nice offset to the richness of gold. Plus, red and gold (i.e., antique gold) work brilliantly together to produce a sophisticated look.

Quick Tip #2: When using these frames for a fall wedding, you can create a dramatic effect by spreading red or burgundy rose petals - scattered freely throughout the table. This is especially striking when displayed as part of a welcoming table or at the cake presentation table.

Tie a Ribbon on Each (Opposite End)

We’ve decorated each frame using a metallic ribbon that is tied in a diagonal fashion - covering the top-left and bottom-right corners of each silver frame. In keeping with our goal of simplicity and ease, we used a silver ribbon in order to match with the silver beaded border of each frame. Thus, the ribbons appear to be seamlessly tied to each piece.

Quick Tip #3: You can arrange these place frames at each guest’s place setting, but you can also arrange to have them displayed on a favor presentation table that can be located at the entrance of your reception. For a decorative touch, you can spread pastel pink roses spread throughout the table. This type of arrangement is ideal when hosting a reception in a hotel ballroom.
