We admit we have a serious soft spot for watercolors. So while these have served as wedding theme inspiration for some time now, we couldn’t resist putting our own spin on it by marrying (no pun intended!) the similar charms of watercolors and ombre! Both have that soft, fluid effect that is so appealing. And both cast a fresh, young, uplifting vibe that is so perfect for such a joyous occasion. So get ready for some artsy wedding fun you might apply to your own Big Day!
Think Pretty Pinks and Oranges!
For our inspiration, we chose to go with a young yet glamorous orange-to-pink ombre. Sort of like sorbet colors splashed over your wedding is so many lovely ways!
For instance, now is your chance to don a colored wedding gown (3) in the softest of peach tones, made sparkly with Swarovski crystals. While around you, your guests are all comfy in upholstered vintage sofas and chairs (5) that are a delightful mix and (un)match of styles and eras.
At the reception, delight guests with more watercolor-ombre touches: stunning dip-dyed table cloths (1) and DIY painted votive holders (4) to light up the scene. And of course, your wedding cake (2) must be a watercolor work of art as well.
Your invitations (8) rendered in a handpainted style would have already introduced the charming theme months before. To be echoed by your watercolor escort cards (10) and sweet artful menu cards (6).
Even your wedding signature drink can capture that orange ombre look, like this refreshing Negroni Swizzle cocktail (7). While your wedding cookie favors (9) can extend the artsy experience even after your guests have said their goodbyes!
Can you tell we just love this theme? Well, by now, this watercolor-ombre pairing must be high on your list of wedding themes to choose from as well!
