Baseball themed save dates photo card

Your wedding rehearsal dinner should be a relaxed and fun affair for you and your wedding party. So with summer coming up, wouldn’t a baseball theme be a real blast? It would immediately set the casual mood with all the themed decorations, food, and drinks you could bring together for the occasion!

So we made a selection of baseball party ideas for you that are playful, easy on the budget, and readily doable—considering all the other wedding preparations you’ve already got going on. Batter up!

Fun Ways to Plan a Baseball Themed Rehearsal Dinner Party

Baseball themed party ideas such as table decor, favors, food

1 – A dessert table all decked out in blue and red is sure to be a hit! This fun example we found via Giggle Tree Events has a pennant banner up front and a chalkboard score board as an easy-to-do backdrop.

2 – Of course, ice cold drinks are in order. Iced tea, fruit juices, sparkling ciders, or traditional ballpark sodas would be just fine. But do add a party touch or two, like these monogrammed napkins and cute straw flags we spotted on Ritzybee!

3 – These save the date cards could be tweaked to make the cutest themed invitations. Available from etsy shop Fresh Paper Studios, they’re designed to resemble baseball tickets with your photo added!

4 – As a variation (or an extension) of the dessert table, how clever is this idea suggested on Glendalough Manor Bride? Attendants can pass out ‘baseball concession treats’ carried around in serving boxes, just like at the ballpark!

5 – Place settings for a casual outdoor gathering like this can and should be simple. As One Lovely Day by Project Wedding shows, white plates, simple cutlery, and cheery red and white gingham napkins are really all you need. Oh and if you have pretty summer blooms available, display them in kraft paper-wrapped pots. And your tables are ready!

6 – Baseball cupcakes, like these featured on Seakettle, have got to be the cutest desserts to serve! You can choose your favorite basic cupcake and white frosting, then pipe on the bright red laces using red-tinted sugar cookie icing.

7 – Planning to give cracker jacks, popcorn, peanuts, and other baseball treats as favors? Then, keep them in theme with packaging designed specifically for a baseball party. Found these great favor boxes from Sosia To Go that would be just the thing!

8 – If preparing your own party fare will be too stressful at this time (and understandably so!), then do call in the services of a caterer. Some, like Cork and Bottle Catering, even have menus all planned out specifically for outdoor rehearsal BBQs that would definitely suit this baseball-themed bash. Yum!

9 – For additional table decorations, why not table numbers featuring framed photos of baseball stars, baseballs mounted on candlesticks, and bottles of beer used to prop up favor boxes? Fun ideas via this Baseball Dinner post on Mrs. Planner!

  1. I want to buy a banner for the dress rehearsal dinner that states: Almost married and has baseballs on the banner. The couple is getting married on the baseball field on July 19. Frantic mother-on-law to be!!!!

  2. Hello Andrea! With the wedding date so close, doing a DIY banner is no longer an option. So we did a quick search for you online:

Hopefully, one of these will accept your order to customize the wording to “Almost Married.” And rush-ship it to you in time for the 19th! Hope this helps.
