The scrumptious goodies on your wedding dessert buffet are the stars, of course! But they can be tied in to your entire theme with a beautifully chosen or crafted backdrop. We were blown away by the amazingly creative backdrop inspiration we found on the web. We somehow managed to choose these 7 stunning examples—showcasing vintage to rustic styles. Which one will your ‘sweet tooth’ fancy?
Beautiful Backdrops Serve Up Pretty Ideas!
1 – Swirly ribbon rosettes – Talk about an opulent, yet elegant effect! We found this backdrop gracing a flapper era-inspired dessert table featured on the Karen Tran blog. It appears to be made of matte gold satin ribbon set in swirls to create a rich rosette pattern (ready-made fabric or DIY?). Fabulous!
2 – Fabulous wallpaper – Yes, apparently it was the elegant powder blue and gold wallpaper that set the colors and the regal look of this dessert buffet styled by Amy Atlas for The Wedding Library, and featured on Style Me Pretty. You could do the same!
3 – Draped burlap – Amazing how something this simple could make such a style statement: plain burlap fabric and some twinkly lights! Take inspiration from this entire themed shoot (actually for the holidays) by Sugar Post and other talented vendors.
4 – DIY fringed scalloped backdrop – ‘Insanely simple’ is how this is described on Belle Amour, where we found this cool, Scandinavian style idea. Thanks to a tutorial by Honeycomb Collective, featured on Ruffled, you can replicate it for your own wedding!
5 – Rustic goes romantic – How delicious is the latte color of this backdrop by P&J by Design! Add to that the sweet white woodsy scene painted on it. And you have a rustic dessert table with a soft, romantic air!
6 – A wall of books – If you’re book lovers, this has got to be the backdrop for you! This amazing installation was created for a real wedding by Jesi Haack Design, featured on Green Wedding Shoes. Lots more fabulous ideas in this post, too!
7 – A vintage screen – Thanks to a free-standing wooden screen, you can create a little nook for your dessert table with ease! Not to mention with a charming vintage or shabby chic look, too, as we found in this ‘Very Vintage’ photo gallery on Candy Bar Couture.
