Bottled herbs for favors

Looking to give guests something special that is different yet homemade? Try making something special that is herb-inspired. We show you three easy yet practical ways to create them—from potted herbal plants to bottled herbs for cooking! These ideas would be ideal for a bride and groom who are planning a wedding wholly inspired by nature and have a penchant for cooking.

Unique Ideas for Herb/Botanical Favors

Herb spices to potted herbs

  1. “Italian wedding mix” is the intriguing label on this bottle of dried herbs! The fabulous photos of this real wedding featured on Brooke Trexler Photography don’t include a how-to or even a description of this favor idea. But you can very well replicate this for your own special day. In fact, you could use one of Bellenza’s own posts on making spice bottle favors as a guide!
  2. More bottled herbs, but this time with such charming chalkboard labels! Available from the etsy shop Twig and Leaf Botanical, these are readily DIYable if you choose to go handmade. Just purchase quaint little bottles with cork stoppers, some chalkboard paint, and of course dried cooking herbs (isn’t the variety shown in the photo amazing?). You could then package these with 3 or 4 cards of family recipes using these herbs, for a special personal touch!
  3. Who wouldn’t love to receive their own little arrangements of herbs and flowering plants? These ones are presented as living escort cards and/or place card holders by Aly Morford of The Vine’s Leaf over on The Wedding Chicks blog. They contain a lovely mixture of maiden hair ferns and billy button flowers in globe-shaped glass vases. Aly also shows how to create herb arrangements of basil, sage, rosemary, lavender, and parsley in a variety of vintage-style containers.
