Fabulous Feature: Cinderella-themed Dessert Table by Violet Skies Studio
We’re absolutely amazed by the creative variations out there on the beloved Cinderella theme (see our recent featured party)! And this darling Dessert Table is another inspiring example. Pulled together beautifully by photographer-mom Violet of Violet Skies Studio, this was actually from a real party a couple of years back for her (then) four year-old daughter. But the ideas are as fresh as the daisies on the birthday cake! Read on for all the sweet details.
Sweet Details for a Cinderella Party Dessert Table
First off, we have to say that this party proves that you can capture a theme without going the “commercial” route. Or sticking to the literal straight-from-the-book or movie look. Kudos to mommy Violet for showing us how!
Just look at the creative details and great finds she worked into this delightful display:
– The birthday cake was “ordered from the store,” so she simply added the flowers and cute carriages (actually cupcake toppers made by her uncle!).
– Gracing the cake was a unique Cinderella figurine (not the usual princess-y look you’d expect!) crafted from clay, again by Violet’s uncle, to resemble the birthday celebrant…love that!
– The big clock was a last-minute find at TJ Max and looks perfect against that starry backdrop of twinkling fairy lights.
– The cupcakes were topped with white chocolate “Cinderella slippers” (from a candy mold on Amazon) with blue shimmer added; so prettily presented on a vintage-style cake plate from Home Goods.
– Custom-made chocolates had the birthday girl’s photo on top, with another set showing Cinderella’s mice friends.
– An amazing fruit sculpture by Violet’s mom was a carriage carved from a watermelon…and can you guess what the tiny mice in front of it are made of?
Don’t all those wonderful ideas make you think, “Hey, I can style a Cinderella party, too!” Thank you for the inspiration, Violet. All in all, a dessert table and party clearly made with love!
