A Peppermint-inspired Table Setting in Red and White

Creating a table centerpiece of striped stylized Christmas trees is our nod to that most-loved yuletide candy: peppermint! Then, we used sequin-trimmed stars to serve as innovative napkin rings, while the table number covered in faux fur and gemstones adds a hint of sass. Add your own unique accents with swirling red ribbons, clear crystals, and shimmery sequins. Contrasting table linens in white and red add a fresh, modern color palette that is easy to implement.

Apply modern touches such as using white candles in wire mesh holders, red beaded votive glasses, and a web of red sequin strands criss-crossing the table top. Get creative with edible Christmas decorations using marshmallow place markers have each guest’s name spelled out in red edible gel. Expect guests to take a bite come party time (see photos below)!

Holiday Party Favors Glammed Up in Red

For guest treats with a holiday vibe, glittery silver favor baskets hold fudgy brownie squares. Just add name cards and these can double as place markers, too.Over-sized ‘candy treats’ are simply red and white striped fabric filled with a mix of red jelly beans, white crystal candies, and peppermint balls. Yum! Red fabric-wrapped bundles are filled with raspberry candies. But other filling ideas could be holiday scent potpourri or pretty Christmas ornaments! Set them on crisp, white plates for a dazzling effect.

RECAP: How to pull off a red-and-white decorating scheme for a holiday party:

  • Think peppermint! The crisp red and white colors will set the tone for the whole party look, as you apply them through solids and stripes.
  • Lay out a pure white table cloth, white dinner ware, white candles, and clear glass ware. Then, have fun adding an assortment of red table elements—from napkins to votive candle holders, table numbers, place cards, etc. The more bold and striking, the better!
  • Use the party fare and drinks to carry on the color scheme. Red candies, cookies, fruits, and even holiday punch or red wine are great ways to do this.
  • Guest favor packaging is definitely a fabulous way to apply the red and white motif.
  • To round out the holiday look, add glitz, glitter, and sparkle through Christmas ornaments, tinsel, ribbon, sequins, and gemstones.
