Style Tips for a Havana Nights Party Ensemble

Hairdo and hair accessories – There’s that distinctive “vintage half updo” hairstyle we’ve all seen in ‘50s films and magazines. In place of bangs, a large roll ends in a twist at the crown of the head, held in place with a head wrap or headband. The rest is caught up in a bun or left loose in large curls secured with hair spray.

A large red fabric rose hair clip can be worn to one side or behind one ear. Or a hat piled with faux fruits, tropical flowers, or feathers would make a truly elaborate headpiece.

Shoes – Typically, retro style chunky-heeled pumps – called Mary Janes – in black (or colored) patent leather go with this look. But contemporary strappy high heels would work, too. Perfect for dancing the night away!

Bag – Again to capture that retro-vintage style, structured handbags or purses with snap-lock closure and rigid handles would be just the thing.

Jewelry – Chunky colorful bead necklaces made of wood or faux gemstones, retro-look hoop earrings (or those dangling tassel earrings that are quite the rage now), plus layers and layers of bangles and bracelets would complete the Havana Nights ensemble!
