Key Decor Points for a Bollywood-themed Party

Glam Up the Fun: It's a Bollywood-inspired Sweet 16 Soiree!

Color, color everywhere! Don’t be shy now. After all, it’s a home-based party! Go with turquoise, orange, fuchsia, golden yellow, purple—the brighter, the better. Bring these in through table linens, runners, throw pillow covers, and area rugs (3). As well as shapely glass bottles, vases of flowers, tea glasses,  and candle holders in multiple hues (2, 6).

Add metallic accents in gold, copper and brass (2). Think mini lanterns, candlesticks, napkin rings, perhaps even miniature gold-painted figures of the celebrant’s favorite animals!

Sweets on show

The cake and dessert display is another area where you can really play up this theme. If you have friends of Indian descent, try borrowing exotic figurines, etched metal trays and ornate display stands for sweets and treats (2). While the Sweet 16 cake itself should be a vision of colors and elaborate embellishments.

Paper products and signage

Since the artistic patterns of India are so stunning and distinct, using paper products is a great way to do them justice. Order party invitations (1) with authentic designs—and the added allure of a boxed presentation with decorative bands, cutouts and tassels!

Continue the ornate look to the guest place cards, menu cards and an exotic framed sign (4) for the party guest book. And of course, the fancy packaging for the thank-you favors (5).
With a party scene like this, the party girl and her guests will feel transported to the magical land of Bollywood—even if just for a few hours. What a treat!
