Shabby Chic Grad Party Inspiration in Coral and Aqua

‘Old school’ is in (literally)! At least, that’s what we’re proposing for a graduation party for the young lady in your life: a retro-style shabby chic theme in coral and aqua. A milestone like this always has a bit of nostalgia mixed in with the pride and joy. So we thought this theme would be perfect. How to capture the mood? Check out the inspiration below!

Plan a Grad Party with a Shabby Chic Theme

Coral and aqua together make such an appealing palette for this theme—somehow giving the usually dainty shabby chic look a youthful spin!

So why not start with invitations that combine traditional and mod graphics and fonts in these cool colors? Then, carry that on to greet guests with a graduation banner and chalkboard-style ‘guest book’ print decorated with gold sequins and balloons. Or perhaps a sentimental guest book table featuring childhood photos of the graduate and a free-standing monogram letter.

A great way to play up the palette, too, would be through the table centerpieces. Find aqua-tinted mason jars and fill them with fresh blooms in peach to salmon tones.

And speaking of salmon, how perfect would appetizers like smoked salmon and asparagus quiche be—color-wise! While for something sweet, think cake pops coated in coral icing and dipped in shimmery aqua glitter.

Finally, for the celebration cake, consider rich chocolate layers frosted with ruffles and ruffles of coral butter cream icing. The graduate and her guests will love it!
