A baby shower is already the sweetest of occasions. But when you choose to style it as a tea party, the sugary factor gets amped up even more! Especially if you treat your guests to confections as lovely to look at and as delish to enjoy as these 6 scrumptious ideas we found. Let mom-to-be indulge a bit (or a lot!), just for this occasion in her honor!

Taking cues from the lovely inspiration below, let’s run with some yummy tea party treat ideas, shall we?

"Baby

1. Cookies – Just imagine the endless possibilities! Designs from teddy bears to ABC blocks to rattles, bibs, booties, farm animals, jungle animals, butterflies, bees, flowers, you name it! But whatever themed cookies you choose, present them as adorably as you can—tied with decorative ribbon, tucked into petite baskets, or bundled up in tulle.

2. Cupcakes – Another party staple you can’t go wrong with! Frost these to match your tea party palette, then top them with the myriad of choices available—from the cutest fondant cutouts to colored sprinkles to fruit bits to grated chocolate. Or for non-edible toppers, think themed printables, whimsical baby trinkets, or the mom-to-be’s or baby’s monogram (if a name has been chosen). Then, for presentation at the party, why not a cupcake bouquet (see pic #2) or tiered tower that can double up as a centerpiece?

3. Ice Cream – If you’re planning a summertime tea party, ice cream, sorbet, and yogurt desserts would be most welcome. Again, choose colors that will make them part of the decor. Then, dress the servings up with ‘funfetti’, crumbled cookies, berries, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or whatever suits your fancy!

4. Macarons – Add a glam touch to the tea party spread with these delicate, French-inspired confections. You can make (or buy) them in a whole range of lovely colors and flavors nowadays. Plus they look properly tea party-like displayed on vintage style pastry stands or dainty glass dishes, or inside old style apothecary jars.

5. Baby Shower Cake – Of course, there must be a baby shower cake at this tea party! You could opt for something as sweetly simple as cherry vanilla layer cake, again with your choice of frosting color and the most darling trimmings and toppers. In fact, why not have a variety of 4 to 5 small cakes to give guests a chance to choose their fave—or sample all!

6. Tea bags – Oh wait, this is a tea party, right? Then, by all means, set out a selection of flavored teas in a pretty woven basket. You can keep them in their original packaging, or personalize them for the occasion with dainty little DIY bags, trimmed with ribbon and tea charms—that your guests can then take home as keepsakes!
