How can you not fall in love with a rustic Italian-themed wedding? Everything is just so gorgeously romantic and perfect for fall nuptials, with woodsy and organic elements evoking a lush vineyard or an olive grove setting. And speaking of olives—sprigs, garlands and wreaths of this iconic Italian greenery can grace the scene from the tablescapes, to the cheese and wine buffet, to the wedding cake itself! While for the couple’s toast, a Tuscan-inspired cocktail is just the thing. Shall we take a tour of the inspiration we found, then?
Fall Wedding Inspiration with a Rustic Italian Air
At the ceremony, the bride herself sets the mood of Old World romance with an all-lace wedding gown paired with a demure vintage-style bouquet of ivory blooms (1).
The reception decor follows suit, with an oh-so-elegant take on the rustic Italian countryside. Cuttings of olive branches adorn a simple tiered wedding cake (2), while more are crafted into the most charming wedding wreaths (3). On the guest tables, more greenery is used to adorn the centerpieces and place cards (6), perfectly complementing the little floral nosegays that dress up each chair (7).
Fittingly Italian, too, is a cheese and wine station (4) offering a selection of the country’s famed Chianti, Italian Chardonnay, and Barolo wines plus sparkling Prosecco—among many others—paired with well-loved cheeses, like Provolone Piccante, Grana Padano Stravecchio, Mountain Gorgonzola and Pecorino Toscano (see more tips here). Along with fresh grapes, nuts, crusty breads and crackers too. While for the couple’s signature drink, a “Tuscan Pear” cocktail (8) is perfect for both the fall season and the Italian theme.
Finally, for wedding favors, why not prepare wedges of Italian cheese with crackers and nuts prettily packaged in ivy-embroidered pouches (5)? A delicious memento of the occasion for guests to enjoy!
