Let’s face it. With the ceremony and reception expenses looming as your Big Day draws near, the last thing you need are the added costs of a bridal shower. But if the venue will be in someone’s home and family members and friends can pitch in for the party fare and decorations, then you can just take care of preparing favors to thank everyone for their love and support!
But what to give? Something edible is always appreciated, that’s for sure. However, the well-loved candies, cookies, and cupcakes may seem overly common. Plus, if you order them from a custom bakery, they could cost a pretty penny, too. So we love these fun and fabulous ideas for popcorn favors that we found on the web. They’re a cinch to DIY, so affordable, and can be colored, flavored, and packaged to suit whatever shower theme you choose!
- Floral pomanders are lovely as wedding decorations. But here’s a variation shared on the Austin Wedding Blog, using popcorn instead of flowers! And what holds them together in a ball? A yummy, gooey mix of melted marshmallows and white chocolate tinted pink with food coloring. See how to make these yourself, following the recipe from Not Quite Nigella, then give them as pretty favors!
- These little bowls of “party popcorn” from She Wears Many Hats are such a festive sight, not to mention a great treat! The popped kernels are coated in white candy melts and dusted with colorful sprinkles. Just imagine the mix of salty and sweet flavors. Yum! Serve these at the shower, then have take-home bowls as favors wrapped in clear cello and tied with ribbon.
- And if you happen to be planning a fun carnival-themed shower, check out this favor idea from Modern Frills. Two favorite carnival snacks, popcorn and cotton candy, are combined in this one treat! Scoop it into cello bags, tie with red and white twine, and stick on favor labels with a whimsical carnival tent design.
- Not too crazy about coloring or flavoring your popcorn? Well, you can stick with the well-loved classic variety then just package it prettily! This favor display by Giggles Galore shows how colorful paper cones make the cutest holders for popcorn, propped up in a vintage Coca-cola box. How’s that for appealing, yet so affordable?
Then use these ideas for a “She’s About to Pop” baby shower! They’re all cute!
Thank you so much for including my popcorn treat cones in this fantastic round-up!
You’re absolutely right! You can play on the “pop” aspect of giving popcorn for different occasions — like “He Popped the Question” for an engagement party!
Yum! These all look absolutely fabulous!
These are so sweet and affordable! Love that coke crate too 🙂
