How to keep your guests all warm and cozy at a winter holiday wedding? With an inviting hot cocoa station, of course! This could offer up much-appreciated welcome drinks as everyone moves from the ceremony to the reception. Or a delicious ‘one for the road’ beverage as they say their goodbyes. Either way, it would be only fitting to give your hot cocoa station a stylish air for this special occasion. So here are some delightfully doable tips to DIY your own hot cocoa bar for your wedding!
Set Out China Cups and Saucers
In place of earthenware mugs, why not set out your special china coffee or tea cups? And your fancy flatware, too? This is your wedding after all! Then, use dainty saucers to serve traditional holiday garnishes like peppermint bonbons and marshmallows. And maybe add cinnamon powder, wafer sticks, chocolate sprinkles, and crushed peppermint candy. Want to serve some spiked hot chocolate? Then, offer up a variety of liqueurs such as Baileys® Irish Cream, Kahlua® coffee liqueur, and Grand Marnier®.
Serve Up Pastries and Cookies to Match
Of course, bite-size holiday treats would be great to pair with the hot chocolate. So we found these 3 easy-to-serve munchies that are perfect for the season:
- Cranberry Nut Tarts
- Little Frosty Christmas Cakes
- Spiced Mexican Wedding Cookies [a.k.a. Russian Tea Cakes, Snowballs]
Consider placing take-home containers such as Chinese take-out boxes, glassine bags, or brown paper bags should guests want to bring the goodies back home and enjoy later!
