Each season has its own unique character and personality, if you will. Autumn, for instance, has an air of coziness and warmth, almost like a big welcoming hug. Colors are rich and earthy, while textures are more rough and organic. So when planning what to give guests at your fall wedding, channel that same heartwarming vibe through color. To help get you started, we gathered five of our own crafty favor ideas!
Bottles of Honey in Rustic Wraps
Honey is always a much-appreciated gift, but somehow it just seems so perfect for this time of year. The key to making it look “fall like” is the packaging. You could opt for something as simple as kraft paper wraps covering just the caps of the honey bottles (as shown above), with leaf tags edged with beads tied on with raffia.
Alternatively, you could encase each bottle in a little burlap or muslin sack hand-stenciled with your monogram. Or you could order honey in small ceramic honey pots, then personalize each with a wooden spoon tied on with bakery twine.
Candy Apples in Pretty Autumn Colors
Candy apples are another season staple that everyone loves. Our example has pretty orange sugar sprinkles on a chocolate-coated apple—yummy, indeed. Just make yours extra-special by wrapping them up in clear cello, then finishing each one with a pretty tag. Ours are even cut in a heart shape and marked with each guest’s initial!
At your wedding reception, display the wrapped apples on a bed of dried autumn leaves. Or hang them from some bare branches standing in a glass cylinder vase, and have guests pick their own take-home favor as they leave.
Homemade Popcorn Balls
How about homemade popcorn balls that make delightful (and budget-friendly!) guest gifts, too! Just wrap them up in something colorful as we have done here. You can use fabrics to present them such as burlap, organza, or tulle.
Other packaging options for apple favors could be tea-dyed cheesecloth wraps, petite country baskets, or even brown paper bags with dainty doily appliques.
Candies Inspired by Fall Flavors
Another great idea would be to give candy sachets filled with fall-inspired treats like butterscotch, chocolate almonds, or toffee crunch. Again, opt for colors in keeping with fall, like this pretty example in apricot and chartreuse.
Keepsake Frames that Serve a Decorative Function
And if you happen to be the crafty type, delight guests with these mini frames of dried autumn leaves that you gathered, pressed, and assembled yourself! For this, we used inexpensive photo frames readily available in stores, spray painted them gold, and mounted the leaves on coarsely textured, undyed handmade paper to suit the fall look.
So if you’re just about to choose your autumn wedding favors, keep these heartwarming ideas in mind!

Love the candy apples!
Thanks, Olivia! We do, too. In fact, we got to share these among the team after the shoot. 🙂
