Featured Party: A Bohemian-inspired Sweet 16 Brunch by Charmed Crown
It’s always such a delight to find party decorating inspiration that’s truly heartfelt and handcrafted! And this bohemian-inspired Sweet 16 party styled by Sandra of Charmed Crown for her daughter is a perfect example. As Sandra explains, nearly everything at the party was DIYed mostly using items she already had or could purchase easily and inexpensively. We love that! And you’ll be utterly charmed at the pretty yet trendy results!
Boho Chic Sweet 16 Birthday Details!
We love the uncluttered look of the cake table, “with a bit of a boho chic touch with the metallics and rustic touches,” as Sandra described it. The art print with the watercolor background, calligraphy and arrow graphics brings in the boho vibe, along with the stylized stick-teepee and geometric-patterned boxes.
The wooden crate used as the cake stand is sweetly rustic, while the glittery free-standing number “16”, gold frame and scattered confetti add chic. And for a final accent, a personalized banner on the front of the table honors the birthday girl!
Boho Chic Table Settings & Party Favors
For the table settings, Sandra was inspired by all the fun metallics and feathers gaining popularity at the time. Plus we spot other fave elements: succulents and geometric patterns. Combining all these, Mom was definitely able to create a look that was appealing and a bit edgy, too!
Almost everything was a DIY or an upcycled DIY. Sandra painted Dollar store glass vases, goblets, candle holders and terracotta pots with some gold, silver and white acrylic paint.
Note, too, how she added touches of mint green via painted feathers and desert-style painted twigs; plus blush pink via flowers. And check out the cool framed quotes by each centerpiece.
For items she already had and simply upcycled, Sandra reveals, “I already had the pinecones and the food cans that were painted as well. Succulents were already part of our home, just cut from stems and re-potted to the terracotta pots with some Dollar store bought garden soil and white rocks.” Now, that’s party decor resourcefulness right there!
Finally, the party favors were sweet and trendy, too. Feather-shaped cookies frosted in white and sprinkled with gold glitter. For giving, they were packaged in clear bags with thank-you tags.
Thank you, Sandra, for showing us all how a lovely Sweet 16 brunch can be creatively styled at not too much cost, but with a whole lot of love!
