A 4th of July Burgers and Hotdogs Party: Patriotic + Fun!

A red, white, and blue menu—and everything else, too! That’s what a 4th of July picnic or BBQ party is all about, right? And of course what could be more all-American than burgers and hotdogs on the grill, picnic coolers loaded with ice-cold juices, sodas, and beer, and patriotic-themed sweets and treats for dessert.

So while you may find multi-colored munchies a bit much at other times of the year, not on July 4th! The burger, hotdog, and side-dish recipes we’re featuring will be a hit with family and friends, especially the kids. Plus, we suggest snappy goodie bags to hold fun favors and themed novelties to take home afterwards. Have a great Independence Day holiday!

4th of July Burgers and Hotdogs Party Ideas

Blue-tinted burger buns? Yup, Easy Peasy and Fun’s recipe for  4th of July Burgers (1) shows how to do this with home-baked bread. Then, just add your meat patties, cheese slices, and tomatoes.

Pair these with fun Firecracker Hot Dogs (2) we found on ColaVita Recipes, wrapped around with pizza dough strips and topped with cheese stars. And set up a hot dog toppings bar (3) like this one from I Heart Naptime for everyone to pile on their fave garnishes.

Perfect sides would be this Patriotic Pasta Salad (4) from Sprinkle Some Fun—how festive is that mix of blue-tinted pasta bows, mini pepperoni, cheese stars, cherry tomatoes, and blueberries tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. And these oven-crisp Freedom Fries (5) from Home is Where the Boat Is—dipped in egg whites, whisked with herbs and spices, then baked not fried!

For drinks and dessert, how cool (literally) are this layered red, white and blue drink (6) from Oh My! Creative, non-alcoholic and so refreshing. And this Red, White and Blue Ice Cream Cake (7) from Foxes Love Lemons, topped with raspberries, blueberries, and star sprinkles of course!

Finally, prep a star-spangled send off for all. These super-easy goodie bags (8), from our own 4th of July garden wedding set, are white paper lunch bags, trimmed with flag-themed labels and red ribbon. Just fill with themed favors and home-baked treats to wrap-up the holiday fun.
