Fabulous Place Setting Ideas with a Rustic Look.

This first group of finds focuses on the settings you can prepare for your holiday guests. Here are the details that just won our hearts:

  • Table linens and dinnerware in a classic tartan pattern (1) create instant log cabin charm! Pair with cutlery with wood-grain handles and a darling woodland creature or two!
  • A quaint ‘herbal infusions’ tablescape (2) really creates that homespun ambiance with materials like muslin and twine. Plus each plate is topped with “white sage smudge sticks that the guests can take home with them for burning to purify their space.
  • Simple can still be Christmasy. A sprig of greenery and cinnamon sticks bundled together with twine (3) may be all that’s needed!
  • Maybe it’s the association with peppermint candy. But these red striped napkins (4) instantly get your place settings “beginning to look a lot like Christmas!” (even if this is not from a holiday table…ssshhh!).
  • Christmas tree napkin accents (5) are a quick and easy way to set the merry mood. Just look through your stash of ornaments and gift trims for ones made of wood, twigs, twine, yarn, or fabric for that rustic look.
  • Get your guests in a sentimental mood with music sheets used as placemats (6)—preferably ones for traditional carols or well-loved Christmas standards. You might even end the celebration with some singing!

Gorgeous Centerpieces and Runners

Gorgeous Centerpieces and Runners for a Rustic Holiday

The centerpiece for a rustic tablescape need not be anything fancy or elaborate, yet the effect is still breathtaking! See how this can be done:

  • An assortment of candlesticks and apples (7) magically combine elegance and country charm, arranged atop a doily runner.
  • A pine garland runner (8) is probably the easiest option for dressing up your table—especially if you use artificial greenery (no pine needle mess!) with real pine cones added.
  • ]If it’s a truly woodsy look you’re aiming for, an arrangement of antlers with a wine bottle (9) would certainly do the honors. Note the chalkboard plates and clothespin place cards, too!
