"Hang ten!" with Surf-themed Decorations for Your Backyard

Surfing themed decorations for backyard

Ready for some summer surfing? But fretting about being stuck inland for now? No worries. You can enjoy a tiny piece of surfer’s paradise (okay, minus the waves) without even leaving your home! Just set up your very own backyard surf shack or beach backyard getaway. Or add a few surf-themed decor accents to your porch, sundeck, or pocket garden.

The inspiration we discovered is just so cool, you’ll definitely find ideas you’ll love, too. From a tiny beach hut you can build, to using surfboards as wall art, a backdrop, or an accent table. All the way to setting up a backyard tiki bar or decorating with DIY nautical decor (from 2 other posts on our Living blog).

So, what are you waiting for? Surf’s up!

Trivia: "Hang ten" started as the nickname of a tricky surfing maneuver where the surfer stands at the nose of the board with all 10 toes gripping the edge. Today, the "hang ten" or "shaka" hand gesture (thumb and pinky extended, and the 3 middle fingers folded down) is used in surfing culture to mean "hang loose" or "enjoy!"
