So, you’ve set your sights on hosting a safari-themed baby shower? Such a fun concept to play around with and bring to life on your party tables! Even more appealing if you carry it through to details like the menu cards. See how to transform a simple listing of party appetizers and light dishes into a themed accent piece, perfectly in sync with your table decorations!

Dress Up Your Party’s Menu Card, Safari Style

Safari menu card diy with stuffed animals as decorations.

The styling of the menu card itself is totally open-ended. You may choose whatever card stock you wish, and print the menu in any font and ink color you fancy. For this joyfully jungle-y set, we crafted the menu to blend right in by using cream card stock mounted on heavier brown board. Then, we made it appear to be tied in place with olive green paper ribbon (a long blade of grass or palm leaf would be great, too!) and tucked in a piece of tree bark. As easy as that!

Serve a the vegan/non-vegan party fare on the menu

Note: Wondering about the vegan/non-vegan party fare on the menu? Well, it’s mom-to-be and her friends who’ll be enjoying the eats. So we thought the choices should be light and healthy!

The suggested menu ideas are:

Appetizers – Truffle Nori Popcorn and Mixed Nuts

Non-vegan – Prawn Tempura Roll, Salmon Salsa Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll with Broiled Mango, Fish and Chips, Chicken Karaage with Ponzu Dipping Sauce, and Crispy Chicken Pot Stickers

Vegan – Mediterranean Wrap, Crispy Tofu, Ratatouille Penne Pasta, and Japanese Teppanyaki Rice

Keep Your Menu Card in “Cute Company”

Add animal figurines as party of the menu accents.

Now, what really ups the charm of this menu display are the darling little safari friends keeping it company! As part of the table centerpiece, we used a stuffed lion and giraffe sitting in a bamboo tray. Then, we perched the cutest jungle animal figures (taken from a wooden kiddie puzzle) on each plate to hold down the place cards.

Add some greenery to the menu card display.

You could do the same with plastic animals so easy to find at any toy store. Or you could make cutouts from old jungle story books or even safari-themed gift wrap or scrap booking paper. Then, complete the look with bits of greenery like succulents tucked in all over the table display! We told you that this safari-themed baby shower menu card would be easy to DIY!
