A Poolside Bridal Shower by Lucy Betty in Chic Blue & Lime Green

Bridal shower pool party by Lucy Betty

Ah, the irresistible sight of a crystal blue pool at the peak of summer! That was the instant appeal of this blue and lime green bridal shower designed by Sarah of Lucy Betty for a dear family friend. Such a crisp and refreshing scene—right in their own backyard! And as with most of the celebrations we feature, the table settings and party decorations are so wonderfully doable, you’re bound to find yourself exclaiming, “Hey, I can do that!” And you certainly can!

Cool Blue Table Settings

Sarah described the key table elements they prepared—like the gerbera daisy centerpieces that they transferred from clunky clay pots to silver julep vases (re-used from her sister’s wedding), the “diamond” napkin accents from Dollar Tree, and the shower favors that were Vera Bradley notepads each wrapped with a personalized card.

But we also noted how the use of patterned blue-and-white table overlays allowed the hosts to keep the place settings very simple. Plus of course these provided a ‘summer resort’ vibe that made us long to take a dip in the pool ourselves, simply from seeing the photos!

An Aqua and Lime Candy Buffet Table

How lucky was it that Sarah’s mom had actually won a candy buffet. And isn’t it sweet that they used the prize for this bridal shower? So the guests were treated to an eye-catching array of sweets in aqua and lime green: from peeps on platters of white coated almonds, to swirly pops, to gumballs, to blue jelly beans, to hanging rock candy sticks!

Pretty Shower Decorations and Banners

To dress up the party scene, Sarah’s sister used a Cricut machine to craft this sweet banner with the bride’s and groom’s names. They also spray-painted giant letters bought at Hobby Lobby and hung these alongside the candy buffet with green striped ribbon. They even cleverly re-used tissue pompoms (again from their sister’s wedding) and suspended them from shepherd’s hooks around the poolside garden!

What totally charms us about this bridal shower is how Sarah and her family made creative use of available resources: a fabulous pool and garden, once-used wedding decorations, and personal crafting skills. And then brought these all together to host a wonderful celebration that’s both refreshingly cool and heartwarming at the same time!
