We tend to think of wedding party tables in muted tones and soft, frilly decorations. But if you dare to go with a Mardi Gras theme, then bold, festive colors and over the top accessories are perfectly in order! And a fitting occasion to bring in all this revelry would be a fun, at-home rehearsal dinner party with family and friends unwinding in “Fat Tuesday” style before the Big Day.
The challenge, though, is how to style your tables with a balance of Mardi Gras pizzazz and tablescaping artistry. What luck, then, that we found three sample table settings, each with a slightly different take on decorating for this occasion. These just prove that you can tone down the garish and come up with something gorgeous! Follow us in a three-part series post!
A Table Gets Festive from The Tablescaper
What we love about this Mardi Gras-inspired setting by The Tablescaper is how it narrowed down the traditional palette to mainly purple and gold. This way, even with all the ornate details, patterns, textures, and accent pieces, the overall look is still one of tasteful opulence. Other elements of special note are:
- the pattern on the table cloth and matching napkins that seem to simulate the elaborate headdresses of Mardi Gras revelers
- the gold doilies that add just the right hint of glitz to the tiered plates at each place setting
- the Venetian pitcher and goblets with a richly gilded finish and embossed floral design
Watch for Parts 2 and 3 of this series on Mardi Gras-inspired party tables. Each has its own color scheme and a distinct look and feel. The better to make a choice for your own celebration!
