Nutty Ideas for “Going Nuts” for Your Wedding Favors!

We love it when something seemingly ordinary gets a special spin for a wedding. Yup, we’re talking about nuts! Pecans, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, macadamias, even regular boiled peanuts in their shells – any of these can be the stars of your wedding favors. You could opt to salt, roast, or candy them yourselves, or create your favorite “trail mix” with them plus dried fruits. Alternatively, you can buy ready-made nut varieties or mixes in bulk. Then, present them in creative packaging with a witty “nutty” spin. (*this post contains affiliate links)

Wedding Favor Nuts: Packaging Ideas + Recipes

The options for presenting nuts as favors are pretty amazing (bonus: some of the source posts include recipes, too)! From bags to boxes, bottles or tins trimmed with customized tags, labels, or stickers to suit your theme.

Nut Favor Fillings You Can Make or Buy

Having a nautical theme for your reception? Why not stir up your own seafood boil trail mix (1) to give as favors! This recipe combines peanuts, oyster crackers, corn nuts, roasted and salted pecan halves, lemon rind strips, lemon juice, and seafood boil seasoning. And for packaging, simply scoop the trail mix into muslin bags with stamped nautical symbols.

Or maybe you’re going with a tropical theme? Then, an ideal option would be a tropical macadamia nut trail mix (2), featuring macadamias, dried mango, unsweetened coconut flakes, candied ginger, and milk chocolate chips. To give, pack the mix in mason jars with lid labels and “Happy Trails” favor tags.

If you have your own fave trail mix, you could go with that instead. Then, just pop a serving each into rustic wedding paper favor bags (3) printed with ”And so the Adventure Begins”!

Prefer to give just a single type of nuts? Consider one like these Crispie Almonds (4), which are raw organic almonds soaked in salted water, then dried out in a dehydrator. So pretty to present as favors in jars with paper lid wraps and circle labels.

Easiest of all, you can always buy ready-to-give nut packets in bulk, like these Nuts Over Bings™ 12-pack (5) snack-size packs of dried Bings, pistachios, cashews, and almonds. Then, package and label as you please.

Packaging that’s Just Nuts!

Since nuts are quite simple on their own, the appeal is in the favor packaging. And we’re loving the choices we found!

One is to order personalized nuts favors (6) that come in clear bags with the cutest “bride and groom nuts” circle labels. Another is to craft your own DIY metallic paper bags (7) using mini brown paper bags painted with copper craft paint, then trim with rustic chic monogram stickers.

Is your home state known for a special kind of nuts? Take a cue from these boiled peanuts – a Virginia staple – charmingly bundled up in mesh bags (8). Or choose clear mini storage pails (9) with kraft paper labels for a handmade look.

Finally, if your fillings are as fancy as these candied walnuts with lavender and figs (10), why not dress up clear acetate cube boxes with a flouncy ribbon, classic tags, and a sprig of faux lavender? Pretty!
