We all know how the first release of the sci-fi blockbuster The Hunger Games drew such a huge cult following. But have you seen it as a wedding theme? Okay, now we’ve got all you ‘cinema buff’ couples out there thinking!
With its sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, due for release soon, now’s your chance to bring the rustic romance of this film series (yes, we hear there will be more episodes!) to your wedding day. And here are the elements we recommend to help you ‘hit the mark’ with the decor!
1 – Wildflower bouquet – Your bridal bouquet should be fittingly ‘outdoorsy’ in keeping with the film’s setting. This wildflower-style arrangement in rich colors from bright to earthy, featured on Wedding Chicks, couldn’t be more perfect! For more fabulous Hunger Games inspiration, visit the full post.
2 – Woodsy Invitations – Think wood-grain cardstock and a fancy font, as in this themed invitation featured in a Hunger Games styled wedding shoot by Carmen Santorelli Photography and Stacie Shea Events (image via Business Insider).
3 – Al fresco table setting – ‘Roughing it in style’ would be one way to describe this table setup seen in a styled wedding shoot on Green Wedding Shoes. Note the lace table cloth and fancy goblets, alongside the tree stump seats and pine cone place card holders.
4 – Bridesmaids’ gift – An arrow-through-the-heart pendant would make a charming present for your bridesmaids (most likely fans of the movie, too!). We spotted this piece via a roundup of etsy accessories on Wedding Window. But please leave a comment below if you know the original shop.
5 – Arrow ring – Why not pay a sweet tribute to Katniss’ and Peeta’s relationship with this 14k gold ‘triangle ring’ (we like to think of it as an arrow!), available from etsy shop Diament Designs.
6 – Themed wedding cake – Yellow wildflowers, strips of fondant ‘leather,’ and the iconic Hunger Games logo of a golden mockingjay holding an arrow in its beak. These elements combine in an intriguing creation by Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes, for an amazing styled wedding shoot by Carmen Santorelli Photography and Stacie Shea Events.
