Check out our simple tutorial below that even non-crafters can handle.
DIY Wedding Favor Cones in 5 Easy Steps
Materials you will need:
- – Kraft paper, cut into 12” x 12” squares (you may also use gift wrapping or scrapbook paper, if you’d like a pattern)
- – Round paper doilies (we suggest 8″ to 10.5″ inch doilies)
- – Scissors
- – Double-sided tape or a glue gun
- – Fillings like dainty flowers, like asters, baby’s breath or mini mums
Step 1: Roll each square of kraft paper into a cone shape. Secure it with double-sided tape.
Step 2: Trim the open end of the paper cone to make a straight edge. Although if you prefer a “pointy” top edge, you can just skip this step!
Continue on by positionining a piece of double-sided tape on one corner.
Step 3: Once you’ve secured the cone with tape, fold each paper doily into a half-circle.
Then, be sure to attach the double-sided tape to the doily on one side.
Step 4: Wrap the folded doily around a paper cone, holding one corner in place with the prepared tape. Secure the other corner with tape as well.
Keep wrapping the cone completely with the doily until it is completely secured to the cone.
Step 5: The cones are now ready to fill! We chose tiny asters to place in our finished cones. So sweet and simple!
Step 6: Add your own fillings! Be sure to check out suggestions below.
And here they are, gracing each guest’s place setting on the wedding reception tables. A perfect match for the burlap and lace tablescape of this Vintage Country theme!
